Amber Fort Elephants, a set on Flickr.

The Amber Fort is located high on a hill - quite a trek by foot. But there is an alternate way to get to the top - by elephant. Herein are pictures of our elephants and of views of the surrounding countryside from elephant back.

Chand Baori, a set on Flickr.

A stepwell is a well with steps leading down to the water, as ooposes to digging a hole and using a bucket. This is a rather simple explanation for such an intricate, beautiful structure like Chand Baori.

There are several step wells in India and Chand Baori is the deepest, over 100 feet. If there any more spectacular I really want to see them. Chand Baori was constructed in the 9th century, although many of the amenities in the north face and entrance area were later additions.
